Questions,
answered.

Do I have to run a mail server?

No. Selva Mail runs on your infrastructure but sends through your own Amazon SES account — Amazon’s IPs, Amazon’s reputation. You never warm an IP or land on a blocklist. There are no servers at all: the platform is Lambda, SQS, SNS and EventBridge, deployed with one sst deploy.

What exactly does $497 buy?

The software, deployed to your AWS account, with permanent repository access and 12 months of email support. It runs forever whether or not you ever pay again. Launch buyers get agency rights permanently — unlimited client workspaces, operate it for your clients. First 100 licenses.

What is the renewal for?

$79/yr, optional, for continued email support. Your license, your source access and your updates are permanent — the renewal buys help, not access.

How is this cheaper than a per-contact provider?

They bill you for how many people are on your list. Selva Mail bills you nothing — you own it — and AWS bills you for emails actually sent, at about $0.12 per 1,000 all-in. Your cost stops tracking your list size. At 50k emails a month that is roughly $6.

Do I need an AWS account?

Yes — that is the point. Emails send from your account, your data lives in your database, and AWS bills you at cost. You will also want Postgres; CockroachDB and Neon free tiers cover getting started.

What protects deliverability?

SES does the sending, and Selva Mail wires up what keeps a sending domain healthy: DKIM verification with live DNS checks, DMARC aggregate report ingestion, automatic suppression on bounces and complaints, double opt-in with confirmation emails, A–F engagement grading to skip dead addresses, and one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058).

Can non-technical people use it?

That is the point of the visual email builder. Account managers and clients build and send campaigns themselves — you are not in the loop for every blast. Templating is {{variables}} with dot-paths and fallbacks.

How many domains and clients can I onboard?

Unlimited. There is no cap in the code on workspaces, domains, senders, API keys or contacts. Each client gets their own workspace with their domain, their senders and their email theme.

Can I migrate away later?

Everything is already yours: contacts, events and templates in your Postgres, sending through your own SES identities, standard REST and tRPC APIs. Migrating away is a database export you run yourself.
