Selva Mail vs
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)

Billed on emails sent rather than contacts — every paid plan carries unlimited contacts.

What Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) does well

Alone among the big marketing platforms, Brevo does not charge you for storing contacts — you pay for what you send, and the list can grow for free. It also bundles SMS, chat and a light CRM, and the entry price is genuinely low.

Where the pricing model hurts

Automation and the features most people actually came for sit on the higher tiers, and at real volume the per-send price is many times what the same email costs through SES. The pricing is friendlier than its rivals, but it is still someone else deciding it.

The rare marketing platform that does not bill on list size.

What it costs at 5k, 10k and 25k

Assumes four emails per contact per month. Selva Mail is a one-time $497 license, then AWS bills you for what you actually send.

Contacts Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) Selva Mail (AWS) Annual saving Payback
5,000 $18/mo ≈$2/mo $192 ~31.1 months
10,000 $29/mo ≈$5/mo $288 ~20.7 months
25,000 $65/mo ≈$12/mo $636 ~9.4 months

Public list prices, 2026. Where a competitor is free software, the saving column is blank on purpose — the cost you are comparing is your own server and your own hours, not a license fee.

Selva Mail costs $497 once, then AWS at cost — about $6/mo at 50,000 emails. It is priced per email sent, not per contact, so it does not grow with your list.

Migrating from Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)

Export contacts and attributes to CSV from the Contacts page, then import into a Selva Mail list. Templates rebuild in the visual builder; automations have no cross-platform import anywhere in this category.
