Selva Mail vs
Loops

Billed per contact, with unlimited marketing and transactional sends included.

What Loops does well

The nicest developer experience in the marketing half of this list — a clean API, good documentation, and marketing plus transactional in one product without the enterprise weight. For a SaaS that wants both from a single tool it fits neatly.

Where the pricing model hurts

It is still per contact, so a list that grows raises the bill whether or not you send more email. Unlimited sends is a real benefit at high frequency and no benefit at all if your list is large and quiet.

What it costs at 5k, 10k and 25k

Assumes four emails per contact per month. Selva Mail is a one-time $497 license, then AWS bills you for what you actually send.

Contacts Loops Selva Mail (AWS) Annual saving Payback
5,000 $49/mo ≈$2/mo $564 ~10.6 months
10,000 $99/mo ≈$5/mo $1,128 ~5.3 months
25,000 $249/mo ≈$12/mo $2,844 ~2.1 months

Public list prices, 2026. Where a competitor is free software, the saving column is blank on purpose — the cost you are comparing is your own server and your own hours, not a license fee.

Selva Mail costs $497 once, then AWS at cost — about $6/mo at 50,000 emails. It is priced per email sent, not per contact, so it does not grow with your list.

Migrating from Loops

Export contacts through the API or CSV, then import into a Selva Mail list. Transactional sends move to the REST API; the request shapes are close enough that most integrations are a small edit.
